From Student to Teacher: A Lifelong Connection
Meet Kylie
Kylie's dance journey began at Mathis when she was just three years old. "I come from a family of dancers. Classical ballet became my first love when I was eight years old. I enjoyed its complexity. The fusion of body and mind to perfect movement" she shares.
Today, Kylie brings her Associate Diploma from the Cecchetti Imperial Classical Ballet (CICB) and experience as an Examiner for the Southern Federation of Dance (SFD) to our students. Her own journey from Mathis student to teacher creates a unique understanding of our studio's approach.
Teaching the Whole Child

"I enjoy getting to know my students and supporting them through not just their dancing but their life journey. Helping them achieve their best, develop skills like organisation and working hard that will enhance their lives well past their time in the studio.”

A Balanced Approach to Dance Education
Kylie appreciates our studio's comprehensive approach to dance training–"There are so many styles of dance offered and so many opportunities to perform. Each with varied commitment options. Classical ballet is encouraged with the respect it deserves, being the foundation of all dance while still enabling students to excel at many other dance styles."
Student Development: The Reward of Teaching
After years of teaching, Kylie finds satisfaction in witnessing long-term student progress.
"I have been at the studio long enough now to see the progress of some lovely, very young dancers, now move into the Cecchetti Majors. Accomplishing pointe work and also being truly able to let go and express themselves in performance due to the fabulous secure technique they have achieved."
